Educational blogging is a unique way to have students analyze a topic in depth and share what they learned through their own words. This practice is beneficial to others as it is an effective way to share information while learning about new topics. It practices paying attention to detail when forming a blog post, including certain credentials necessary to make a blog post, while incorporating the information that was wanting to be expressed. The popularity of blogs is spreading throughout the education system, being used as peer reviewed assignments, group projects or collaborated assignments. Benefits of educational blogging for students includes promoting self-expression, developing analytical thinking, and exercising their own creativity.
It was interesting to browse my classmates blogs and reading their perspective on various topics I have also written about. The three classmates blog posts I am discussing in this blog were Cat Dillards, Bree Dignan, and Brilee Culbert. In Cat Dillards blog, she discusses the purpose of educational blogs and how they can benefit students. She stated that it aids students in expressing themselves, in which I agree with her statement. Bree's blog post I chose to include was her first post about the impact of family factors on a student and how it can effect their education, positively or negatively. Brilee's blog post discussed how Agriculture-based programs offered to students, such as 4-H and FFA, are helpful in which they teach agricultural related topics like animal science, plant science, and natural resources. From my short experience blogging, I felt it was a special way to incorporate writing and creativity in class assignments. It was a way where I was able easily organize my work, learn how to set up a blog and how to manage it. I felt providing my classmates blogs to view was a great way to connect the class, especially for an online group.
